R is very flexible for data manipulation. In conducting simulation, R can call external software such as SAS and Mplus. Many examples on how to use R and external software are provided. For example, one example is on how to conduct bootstrap for mediation analysis using Mplus with auxiliary variables. Another example demonstrates how to calculate power for a growth curve model using R and Mplus.
